Thank you for listening to our long-awaited heartfelt album that aims to sonically encapsulate the collective human experiences (i.e., trials, loss, burdens, joys, and love) that were magnified amid the historic global pandemic of Covid-19 through the medium of original contemporary compositions and performances by Bruno Miranda (Brazilian pianist) and me (Puerto Rican flutist) with several special guests: Vladimir Suarez A. (Bolivian pianist), José Leonardo Leon (Venezuelan bass trombonist), & Derris Lee (Liberian percussionist).
It is our hope that this music can:
magically transport listeners through a transcendental journey of reliving, reflecting, reminiscing, and processing our unified endurance and suffering as a humanity having experienced so much loss and pain
help listeners embrace and celebrate their resiliency to simply continue with our lives, empower others, embrace each other’s strengths, ultimately, to bring faith, hope, and love into the world amid these unprecedented times.
As the title track of the album, this contemporary composition - "Embarkation: The Resiliency of Humanity Amid Covid-19" - aims to musically and sonically encompass the meta-experience of the collective humanity and emotively suggest how we urgently took unprecedented measures to innovate, support, seek solutions, rescue, and accommodate anyone and everyone for the sake of our survival amid the horrific pandemic of Covid-19. It is a piece that is highly emotional, expressive, and flourishing with melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic 'sheets of sounds' that intend to exude the inner power of "who we are capable of becoming," ultimately, to inspire listeners to declare for themselves that they indeed are valued, capable, and essential to the provision of their respective communities through global outreach and social impact.
